September 2015 me, my sister, mum and dad went to Disneyland. Disneyland is located in Anaheim Los Angeles. We were all really excited to go.

When we arrived at Disneyland we swiped our 10 day pass and walked through the gates. Disneyland was a gigantic place with so many rides. The first ride we we went on was the pirates of the Caribbean ride it was really well themed with all these robots acting and sounding like the characters from the movie. Since we arrived late we only went on one more ride before it closed it was a jungle cruise on the water. It was really cool at night time because all these animals which are robots jump up at you and splash you and you don't know when it's coming. We then walked out the gates and went to have a look at downtown Disney. There were so many people. We got some food i got a Wretezl pretzel witch is really yum after that we went back to our hotel.

The next day we went first thing in the morning. It was really hot so we drank lots of water. The ride we went on first was splash mountain which was another water ride but it had a big drop at the end. We all got soaked ( which was good because it was really hot ) Then we lined up for an hour to go to the haunted mansion which had just reopened that day for Halloween. It was all based on the movie the nightmare before christmas. We went on 3 more rides and then had lunch. Those rides were the indiana jones ride and the big thunder mountain railroad ( my favorite ride ) and star tours which was a 3D simulator. We went back  later that night to watch the paint the night parade with all the disney characters in it. With all these bright lights coming from the vehicles they were standing on and there costumes were light up too. After that we watched the fireworks which were spectacula. the other to rides we went on were space mountain and matterhorn bobsleds.

The next day we lined up early to go to the other park california adventure. We went straight to cars ride it only took 10 minutes to get onto the ride not like last time we went when it had just opened a 2 hour 30 minute wait! The cars ride was awesome with all the background to look exactly like you were in radiator springs .At the end of the ride you would race another car with people in it we won! Next we went to the tower of terror you sat inside this elevator and you would go up and up and then a door opened and you could see the whole park then suddenly you would drop all the way  Down to the bottom. It was getting hot so we went on grizzly river rapids a water ride with a 2 drops. We went on scream next which was a roller coaster with big drops and loops. Later that night we watched the world of color which was really awesome it was colorful water with a screen projected on it.

Why is smoking bad for you?

smoking is responsible for several diseases like Lung Cancer, Respiratory Diseases,              Heart Disease. In the usa  there are about 2.4million deaths a year over 480,000 Deaths are caused by smoking. smoking is the largest cause of preventable death in the world. did you know that if you smoke you a very likely to live 10 years less than a non smoker. A packet of smokes cost about 18.70 but did you know if smoke a packet every day you would spend over $5000 to be exact $6825.5 did you know 14,000 people die every day caused by smoking.

Why is smoking addictive?

cigarettes have nicotine a highly addictive substance mostly in tobacco  It travels quickly to the brain when it is inhaled and can cause a feeling of temporary relaxation or stress relief.Nicotine can also elevate your mood and your heart rate. Even if you want to quit smoking, you may find it difficult because you’re addicted to the effects of nicotine. Nicotine alters the balance of chemicals in your brain. It mainly affects chemicals called dopamine and noradrenaline. When nicotine changes the levels of these chemicals, your mood and concentration levels change. Many smokers find this enjoyable.

How do you stop?

many people don't quit smoking because they think it's too hard, and it's true that for most people quitting isn't easy. After all, the nicotine in cigarettes is a powerfully addictive drug Smokers often start smoking because friends or family do.People are more likely to succeed at quitting when friends and family help. If you don't want to tell your family that you smoke, ask friends to help you quit.

Smoking Facts In New Zealand

Smoking causes about 25% of all cancer deaths in New Zealand, and one out of every 10 deaths worldwide. Around 5,000 New Zealanders die each year from smoking-related illnesses 4,700 from smoking and around 350 from second-hand smoke

Conclusion  

so do it causes 1000s of death every day and can cause cancer if you want to live a happier longer life do not smoke it's a joke

Story:

                                         

Yawning Dave (who is truly an amazing chef) wakes up and stretches. It is another lovely, calm, cloudless day. Dave looks out the window and opens it to get some fresh air when he  hears a peculiar bang coming from his baking factory. He gets changed and goes downstairs. He hops into his car and drives down the road to see what the noise was. Half way there he runs out of gas so he starts walking he walks round a corner when suddenly a big robot comes out of nowhere and tries to grab Dave. He grabs Dave but luckily Dave slips out of his hand and runs away but the huge red robot chases him and demands for his cooking recipes or he will kill him. He also demands all of his food on top of that. he looks for a place to hide but then he has an idea.

The giant red robot with spiky hair,6 tentacle legs and two giant claws  with lots of strange little doors,chases Dave into his big baking factory. Dave feels frightened he is shaking in his boots there is no where to hide in his baking factory. On the robot he notices something very familiar the logo on the robot's arm. Dave shouts at him “leave me and my food alone” The robot does not listen and tries to grab him.  Dave dashes towards a corner in his baking factory he is cornered.

Dave throws a blueberry cheesecake at him but the robot just catches it and crushes it in its hand like it is an ant.  “F-f- fine g-g-grab the recipes” Dave stammers. Head to toe trembling in fear shaking like a leaf Dave hands the recipes over to the giant robot but when the robot bends down to grab the recipes out of one of the doors comes flying out his arch nemesis Bob. Bob runs another baking factory down the road called Bob's bakery he is always trying to steal his secret recipes because Dave's food is way better than Bob's and Dave is way more successful and gets all the customers. Dave calls the police and they take him to jail for trying to steal his food and threatening to kill him. As Bob is being driven away he yells “I will be back and I will have my revenge and mark my words I will be the better baker one day!” 2 years later Dave wakes up yawning he then stretches its a lovely, calm, cloudless day “Wait?” he says to himself this is awfully familiar. He hears a peculiar noise coming from outside his house he peers out his window and there it is the big red robot with Bob controlling it this time it looks bigger and stronger Bob has come out of jail and he has come to Get his revenge. See what happens next in the lost thing two and you will find out why the title is called the lost thing!

Matariki Explanation

 

Matariki is the Maori name for the cluster of stars also known as the Pleiades or the seven sisters.  It rises in mid winter, latish May or earlyish June. To Maoris it is  the start of a new year. Matariki literally means the eyes of god or tiny eyes.

The Maori new year is marked by the rise of Matariki and the sighting of the next new moon. The pre-dawn rise of Matariki can be seen in the last few days of May every year and the new year is marked at the sighting of the next new moon which occurs during June.

How is matariki celebrated Matariki is celebrated with education, remembrance and the planting of new trees and crops signalling new beginnings. Matariki was the time for new harvests, and ceremonial offerings to the land based gods Rongo, Uenuku and Whiro to ensure good crops for the coming year.  It was also seen as a perfect time to learn about the land we live on and to remember whakapapa the ancestry who have passed from this world to the next and the legacy they left behind.

The Matariki star constellation was used to dictate how the coming year would be in regard to the size of the harvest, so it was very important for Maori to prepare the land as best they could in order to enable the coming year to be successful

For Maori the land that they live on is one of the most important aspects of life.  Preserving their way of life depended on the treatment of the land and all things living on it, this outlook was paramount to their survival and was reflected and filtered through  to many other aspects of Maori culture.

School Should Have 3 Weeks Of Holidays!

Do you want to have just 2 weeks of your precious school holidays? Yeah I didn't think so. We all need more!!! how does 3 weeks sound for ya yeah now were talking. come on 

we need to have 3 weeks of school holidays. 

  

3 weeks is better for going on educational trips even if not going outside and seeing new things. Learning new cultures about how other people live there life. We are always learning any way, you know the saying you learn something new everyday. Having more time gives our brains time to rest, you know when kids get back to school and they're all tired and grumpy.

2 weeks is too short! Kids have  plenty of time at school anyway. More than 50% percent of their life from 5 till 18 is spent at school.

2 Weeks is enough kids have 2 days of the 7 of the week of so it is a big treat to have two whole weeks off. kids need to learn as much as possible so the less time you have off, the better your knowledge is. You can be as smart as Albert Einstein instead as being as dumb as a doorknob. You choose.

So school should have 3 weeks of holidays instead  of the lousy two weeks. Kids spend enough time at school and kids need to go outside and go overseas trips to new places and learn new things. So kid should have 3 weeks of school holidays!!!

I am so exhausted I can't stand up  straight  I am feeling sick with chest complaints and coughing and very bored covered in thick slimy mud

I am trying to march away from the front line back to safety and some rest

I leave the bursting shells and the flares behind

they appear too tired to think or see where they are marching they the boots are big and there feet have cuts in and it hurts when they walk there so tired they look half dead they act if though they were drunk by staggering and swaying and a bit confused they don't even hear the fall of the gas shells behind them

emergency I suddenly realize that me and my men are surrounded by poisonous gas I shout a warning to my them

even though we are all exhausted we use all the speed we can to musta and put on the gas mask most of us put it on but Daniel is to slow he cries out in pain as the gas gets out into his lungs

the gas is thick now a greenish pea soup color it is difficult to see your comrades through these ghastly clouds of smoke

you will never forget seeing your ugly conrad daniel rushing towards you in the gas you feel holes in this situation he cough as the gas gets in his lugs you no hes going to die

I are so disgusted what i see and hear imagine what you would feel like if you were behind the wagon and had to carry the victim you can see his face screwing up and turning purple he is starting to pass out he tells you to let his wife and children know he is dead he then passes out it is very sad

Imagine that you are driving and listening to the dying man cough and his lungs are turning into blood and mucus you look back in horror and then you vomit out the window of the wagon you are scared for life at the sight of the passed out man cough up that yucky blood and mucus disgusting

If you had experienced  what i had described like the frothing mouth full of blood and mucus pouring out at every bump and turn you would never want to say again that it is fantastic for you to die for your country in war its not nice infact it is really appalling and disgusting thing to think about

This is some photos of my space ship we had to do for homework. We are focuasing on sustainability we made a ship that could fit about 500 people it had to have living spaces food and all that stuff we need to have to live and keep us entertained. What I could have done better would be mabye make it a bit bigger and add more rooms like a gym or a spa or a mini beach also mabye a museam and in one part it tells about what earth was like Trust me it is Bigger than it looks my space ship includes bedrooms bathrooms rugby fields and much much more

        Background story

one dark stormy night on the planet Jupiter a little girl called Nancy was lost stranded in the middle of nowhere she was only a little girl about six or seven she wandered and wandered for hours until she found shelter under a tree but she did not know this was a magical tree she was very tired and she lay down and took a nap under the magical tree as she was sleeping a lighting bolt it the tree and hit Nancy as well the next day when she woke up she was in a jail the bad guys had taken here to prison in prison she saw her whole village who had all been captured as well then the bad guys told them all to line up to get ready to be killed Nancy refused they asked her if any of her friends and family were hear she said yes why they took her family to the front of the line now you can watch all your family die 10 minutes later she was the only one left now it was her turn to die they threw her into the pit of lava a couple of years later she rushed up out of the lava with all these cool powers from the lightning that zapped the tree that zapped her and she had a magma suit on so from this day forward she is getting revenge on any bad guys and sending them to jail.

I want you, yes you there to make New Zealand  host the fifa world cup in the year 2026 which is  12 years away! You might be wondering why so far away but Russia is hosting the fwc 2018 and Qatar are hosting the fwc 2022 but the fwc 2026 has not been decided yet.

NZ has Hosted lots of competitions. We have hosted the rugby world cup 2 times the commonwealth games 3 times the rugby 7s and the

rugby league 9s we are going to host part of the icc cricket world cup shared with Australia in 2015 and we are also going to host the junior FIFA world cup in 2015.

12 years is a whole lot of time. I know the FWC cup is a huge event so we will need to fit way more people in the  stadiums. what we can do is make bigger stadiums we can make more accommodation like hotels,motels and backpackers and we can hire entertainment for before and after the games.

So we want NZ to host the fifa world cup 2026. 12 years is a lot of time.

The sclera  is the white of the eye it is a thick layer that protects the eye.

IRIS

The iris makes you look at everything and is the color of your eye.

PUPIL 

The pupil dilates when its dark and light. When its light it goes small and when

 its dark it goes big and it is the opening in the iris.

Parallelograms

Here is my parallelograms. To make a parallelogram you get a piece of paper and you fold it in half. Next you cut the line in the middle. After that  you multiply the width and the length. My two answers are 315cm square and 165cm square. Next with one of the pieces of paper you cut on a Angle up then you cellotape it to the opposite side of the paper. Then you do that over again as many times as you like.

Taste!!!

Chocolate, ice cream, lollies, brussel sprouts. are the The delicious and disgusting things you can taste with your mouth.

There are 4 main taste buds. They are sweet, sour, bitter and salty.The Taste Buds are a Sensory Organ. All the bumps on your tongue are called papillae.  Most of the papilla contains taste buds. Taste buds have very sensitive tiny hairs called microvilli. The microvilli send messages to the brain about how something tastes. For Example Sweet, Sour, Bitter and Salty. The average person has about 10,000 taste buds, which are replaced every two weeks, But as you usually get older your taste buds sometimes don’t get replaced like they used to. Thats why some types of food may taste stronger to kids than they do to adults.

If you have a blocked nose your food might taste a little different than usual. Without your tongue or nose you would not have any taste. Your nose actually plays a part in taste, by smelling the food. Thats why whenever you have the flu, blocked nose or sick, you usually don’t think your favourite foods taste as great. While chewing, the food that you’re eating lets chemicals out. Those chemicals alert the olfactory receptors inside the nose. Then the Olfactory receptors and your taste buds start working together and tells your brain what your food tastes like.

When you have a cold or allergies, and your nose is stuffy, you might notice that your food doesn't seem to have much flavour. That's because the to part of your nose isn't clear to receive the chemicals that trigger  the olfactory receptors that inform the brain and create the taste of the flavour. Try holding your nose the next time you eat something. You'll notice that your taste buds are able to tell your brain something about what you're eating that it's sweet, for example but you won't be able to pick the correct flavor until you let go of your nose.

Embarssing Story

On a lovely winter morning I look out the window and shout "soccer time" to my mum and dad. We head over and have practice with my team. It is icy cold and we are all shivering but the coach says if you run around a lot you will get warm. We start the game. The first 10 minutes go slow and then the next thing we know bang 1-0 to them. What an amazing shot. We are getting tired and it is nearly half time. But we try as hard as we could. Accidentally one of the players in my team stuffs the pass up and trips over the ball and face plants on the grass. The other have an easy goal right past the keeper. 2-0 oh no we are in trouble but luckily straight the kick of I score an amazing goal with my left foot. [ my good foot ] Phewt the referee blows the whistle for half time  it is 2-1 at halftime. We are back on we are all refreshed and ready to play. We started in a flash they are right in our half i tackle him and pass it to my team mate there is to defenders on him and they both move up to tackle him but he does these cool tricks and gets pass them both he has a shoot but he miss times it and it go fly to high it going to go over but it hits the crossbar and rebounds back at his head and he headers it into the goal  Pass pass I yell pass it to me i'm open. He passes it to me i’m 40 meters away from the goal i turn round and i’m away. I dashed as fast as my legs could take me. The other team bolted after me they were gaining on me especially this really fast kid but i still keep my lead. 10 meters to go the goalie tries to block me but he slips over on the wet muddy grass. There is no one in the way I shoot oops I toe hack it and I miss ouch the shot hurt my foot. Dam I missed that's  not good then everyone started laughing at me but i thought it was funny to so is started laughing as well. The goalie kicks it and crunch what a tackle i have made im away again. 30 secs left and it 2-2 all it me on the keepers i shoot i score we take the lead with 10 seconds left everyone jumps on me and we celebrate phew the whistle blows full time we are the champions 3-2 to us 2 goals for me today after that we go to a cafe to celebrate that great win

Mr Glob

WALRUS [ we are learning really useful stuff ] about describing and entertaining in our writing.
Mr Glob nobody really knows the truth what he really looks like but rumors is he is so small nobody sees him. When he rides to town on his ant mobell instead if a car cause he is so tiny if you wanted to see him you would need to have a very powerful magnifying glass. He is so fat for his size so when he hopes on the ant the ant dies. His 8 teeth all are weird shapes. They all have faces and are annoying because they talk 24/7. He has never ever showered  or shaved so he has so much hair that it covered his whole body so he looked like a bear. All the bugs and maggots and all the food gets stuck on his body. He may seem like he is not polite but he eats like the queen. Infact he has even had tea with the queen but that did not last to long because he thought the tea was a swimming pool he swam around and the queen did not like that so he'd got dropped kicked out. his hobbies are listening to barbie music and barbie movies he was barbies no1 fan. His favorite color is brown. He is so domb he climbed over a glass wall to see what was on the over side.Mr Globs favourite food is worms and dirt. Once he did an enormous fart that caused the japan earthquake and the tsunami.
